Amanda Cook, Licensed Massage Therapist

LICENSING # MA61577345

I am a graduate from WCC Massage Therapy Program with a passion for helping people feel at peace in their bodies. I am an active runner, hiker and bicyclist and know how difficult it can be when an injury prevents us from doing what we love. My goal is to help you recover, get you back to doing what you enjoy and keep you in prime condition. I am excited to meet you where you are in your health journey.

What do you do at Prime? I am a licensed massage therapist.

When and how did you get into it? I've been interested in becoming an LMT since high school. Healing through touch has always resonated within me. My plan was to become an LMT after attending a four year college. But life happened after college, and 20+ years later the embers that were sitting on the back burner reignited. The time was right to begin this journey.

What's your approach/philosophy? Why does it work? My approach is to listen. Listen to what you say, listen to how you feel and listen to what your body tells me. Communication is paramount and I strongly believe in that communication.

Why do you like being part of Prime? What makes Prime unique or different? I love Prime for their involvement with the community. I run local races and I take comfort knowing when Prime will be on hand to offer help. I've run the Hamster Endurance Race twice, and both times Kerry was there to patch up blisters or offer advice for my next steps. And, after those long races, hitting the contrast tubs, using Normatec and pairing it all with a massage is such a relief on my tired body. It's a whole amazing package of recovery at Prime.

What else do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any interests/hobbies/family? I was born and raised in Bellingham and I find it difficult to leave because of all the beautiful nature around us. I can be found in the mountains hiking and backpacking in the summer as well as running the trails up in Galbraith and the Chuckanuts with my husband and my local running group. My husband and I have two crazy dogs that keep us on our toes. I love nature and being still amongst the silence. I am a beginner gardener and have an unhealthy obsession with houseplants.
