INGA CHINELL
Licensed Massage Practitioner

I believe that people are so busy, that they have to purposefully schedule time to rest, relax and recover. My role as a massage therapist is to provide a space where clients can relax and let go; to earn trust through a connection on a superficial level that then leads to them opening their mind and body to allow them to release the stressors of everyday life, as well as lead to faster recovery.

My name is Inga Chinell and I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist for over 20 years. Raised in Whatcom County, I graduated from Sehome High School in 1996 and went on a walkabout shortly thereafter. My journey to becoming a massage therapist started in 1998 at Brenneke School of Massage. When I am not helping people on the massage table, you can find me in the gym training my body as well as my mind, out in nature on the hiking trails or spending time with my 4-year old son.

Background:

During my walkabout in 1997, I was living in Hawaii and walked into a resort that offered the lifestyle that called to me. The natural approach to healing through various massage techniques and that ability to help people transform their daily existence called to me.

Certifications & Qualifications:

Due to a chronic neck and upper back issues suffered from mixed martial arts training, I felt a compassion for those who suffer from muscle and technical body breakdowns. This lead me down the path to learning the following techniques:

lomi lomi, Thai, sports / deep tissue massage, ashiatsu.

Incorporating these various forms of rehabilitation over the course of 20-years, I have developed my own unique style of massage that has led me to work with athletes at the Chuckanut Foot Race in 2011, Ski-To-Sea, World ranked Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu masters, former Top 20 World ranked-powerlifters and professional Surf Skiers.

Philosophy:

I believe that people are so busy, that they have to purposefully schedule time to rest, relax and recover. My role as a massage therapist is to provide a space where clients can relax and let go; to earn trust through a connection on a superficial level that then leads to them opening their mind and body to allow them to release the stressors of everyday life, as well as lead to faster recovery.

My goals & why I love what I do:

When a client returns for a repeat session and they tell me about an area of their life that was enhanced through the meditative and regenerative aspect of massage, whether it be being able to train  at a higher level, experience spiritual growth, or able to tap into different avenues of competition that lead to victories, I have done my job.

Why Prime?

Prime is different due to the holistic approach to training and treating through education and various different services really made Prime stand out by putting the clients need and wants first.

Fun Facts:

Nature provides me with a sense of calm, so I enjoy hiking the hills of Lake Whatcom or Chuckanut, I am an avid Yoga practitioner, recreational weightlifter and bike riding with my son.
